What is the point of One Success A Day?
- 'One Success A Day' is a catch-phrase I have used for many years. This is useful when:
- I need to maintain sanity when everyone around me is making things as difficult as possible.
- illness, chronic pain, or other medical conditions limit ability to get things done.
- Physical limitations prevent range of movement or strength.
- Fatigue based compaints limit daily stamina (and this can be physical, mental, or emotional, stamina).
- Mental limitations prevent thinking through a problem and coming to a logical conclusion.
- ... and I am sure you can come up with your own examples!
Some of us have some combination of these limits imposed upon us. We may not like it, especially if we have been achievers.
But that does not stop us from doing something every day. No matter how small the success, we will take that success and be happy with it. Sometimes we will take lots of little daily steps forward, each one a success, in order to get to the miracles.
All success is good success. All blessings are gratefully accepted. All assistance is gratefully accepted. All miracles - the success that others said was impossible - are gratefully accepted.
It also means that some of us are able to devote some time to community instead of the (vain) efforts at being productive in a society that values the accumulation of wealth. Have you ever tried to accumulate wealth when you are exhausted from the effort of getting from bed to shower? Becoming a community person, investing time and talent when you are able, is a great blessing.
The projects and experiments described here are the sorts of things that can be done with effort, one success each day, combining many days to get useful things done.
Future for this website
As time (and enthusiasm) get going I will add a section where people can submit their story or records of their projects and success. I hope that these will provide some motivation or examples for you own work.
What success have you had today?
